Great Point backed interactive film THE COMPLEX has record opening week.
Great Point’s first venture into interactive film is currently enjoying a hugely successful release across gaming platforms worldwide. THE COMPLEX , a completely live action, interactive sci-fi thriller, backed by an SEIS qualifying company managed by Great Point and filmed in the UK last year, is on release through PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, where it has just achieved the best-selling one-week launch period of any interactive movie. THE COMPLEXfollows the story of two scientists trapped in a locked-down lab whilst attempting to save the life of a potential bioterrorist.
Following on from Black Mirror’s ‘Bandersnatch’ and BAFTA-winning game ‘Late Shift’, THE COMPLEX offers multi-optional storytelling with 8 different outcomes; a real-time ‘Relationship Status Tracking’ that influences the story as you play and a real-time ‘Personality Trait Tracking’ that evolves based on your choices. It was written by Lynn Renee Maxcy, part of the Emmy award-winning writing team from ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’and directed by visionary new talent Paul Raschid(‘White Chamber’) andstars Michelle Mylett (‘Letterkenny’, ‘Bad Blood’), Kate Dickie (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘The Witch’), Al Weaver (‘Grantchester’) and Twitch streamer and former Xbox UK presenter, Leah Viathan. The film’s award-winning team includes Oscar-nominated Production Designer Guy Thompson (‘Black Sheep’) and internationally acclaimed DOP Matthias Pilz(‘Top Boy’).
